Speak with POW!r’s Turbo Charge AR* Program builds confidence and self esteem for *At Risk students with exciting, enjoyable theater games and language arts presentations. The program teaches powerful, polished, poised personal presentation skills and esteem building values that strengthen student success and self perceptions.

Students buy into Speak with POW!r programs because they are fun, challenging and provide them with an immediate sense of power, confidence and success.

They recognize these skills will help them succeed, to present themselves well and feel more confident, capable and competent in all areas of their lives.

Speak with POW!r programs begin by asking students, would you like to:

• Learn how to deal with difficult school topics easily and effectively?

These goals are fulfilled by Speak with POW!r program exercises and language arts presentations.

Speak with POW!r programs are fueled by fun and lots of positive energy. The goal is to show students how to present and express themselves well and to sound great because they honestly feel great when they speak.

Speak with POW!r Turbo Charge AR* grew from after school programs initially developed to prepare elementary school students to compete effectively in Optimist Oratorical Contests. The original programs involved small groups and intense attention to help students succeed in the competitive speech contests.

Turbo Charge AR* programs focus primarily on the presentation skill building process and adapts the theater games and language arts exercises to larger groups. Students are encouraged to coach and help each other improve their presentations and performance.

Formal Presentations: We believe it is always important to have good goals to shoot for so a final presentation / evaluation is central to the Speak with POW!r process. Emphasis is placed on student progress rather than competition.

Each student will prepare and deliver a short speech to an enthusiastic, supportive audience. We strongly encourage the involvement and support of parents and teachers throughout the process. Their attendance at the student final presentations is important to everyone’s success.

Optimist, Rotary or Toastmaster clubs may be willing to help coach and conduct speech contests through their Oratorical Contests and Youth Speech programs.

The programs emphasize Engaging and Entertaining Listeners, Preparing To Do Well and Excel, and Practicing Being YOUR Best Self all of the time.
